Review the Admission Guidelines

To assist our applicants to apply to our school and understand the programs with clear instructions, we have designed the NDHU Admission Guidelines for you.
Before start you new journey to NDHU, please kindly check our guidelines for you!

Create the account at the admission application system. 

Please note :
1. We DO NOT accept application by hard copy.
2. All application procedures should be done on the application system. 
3. If you have ever created an account, please set up a NEW account by using a different email address
4. Login to your application account to check on the admission result. (The dates is in the Admission Guidelines.)
5. We DO NOT accept any submission later than the application deadline.

Choose Your Program

NDHU offers a wide range of programs to build an educational experience that is tailored to you. You can apply for up to two programs.

Apply for School’s Scholarships 

If applicants would like to apply for NDHU scholarship, please check “yes” in the online application system.
No extra documents are needed. NDHU Southward Scholarship is only for PhD applicants.
** Taiwan Scholarship awardees are not allowed to apply for NDHU scholarships.

The scholarship results will be released together with the admission application results.

600 NTD Application Fee

Please note:
1. You must pay an application fee of 600 NTD by the deadline indicated in order for your application to be processed. 
2. Every application requests application fee. (the payment will not be transferred to later action or semester’s application).
3. The application fee is non-refundable.

Payment Method

🇹🇼Domestic payment

    •  ATM payment
      (for those who can pay at the Bank in Taiwan)
      Step 1. print out the domestic payment form, (1) bring it to any Bank of Taiwan branch in Taiwan, and pay at the counter, or (2) use the bank card to transfer the money at any ATM in Taiwan. (It may take 1-2 working days to complete.)

      Step 2. After successfully completing the transaction, please upload the payment slip on the application system.

🇹🇼Domestic payment & 🌏 International payment

    • Online Credit Card Payment
      please  note:
      1. should make sure your card is available for international transaction and pay in other currency.
      2. After completing the payment, if the system is not allowing you to proceed to the next step, please do not rush to do another payment but wait for the system to process for 1-2 mins.
      3. No need to upload the payment slip.

✓ Step 4 : Submit the Required Documents

✒ Passport (you may upload the expired passport, however, please note that you should have the renewed one to be able to study abroad).
✒ Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), if applicable.

Please note: 
While applying for an ROC Visa, an applicant whose country is listed under the designated countries list of the ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs needs a Letter of Guarantee. Applicants should find the guarantor for the Letter of Guarantee by themselves, NDHU is not responsible for issuing any Letter of Guarantee for any of applicants.

✒Undergraduate Programs: At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
✒Master’s Programs: At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
✒PhD Programs:
 At least a Master’s Degree or equivalent.

Applicants that will be graduating before the start of the semester of their expected admission (before August for the September entry, or before January for the February entry), but not before the time of their application may submit a certificate of expected graduation and a certificate of enrollment in place of their graduation certificate. However, said applicants must present the original copy of their graduation certificate upon registration, or will otherwise have their enrollment eligibility revoked.

International Students Applying for an Undergraduate Program

Applicants cannot apply to an undergraduate program as an international student if they have taken/is taking a bachelor’s degree or any other programs of lower level in Taiwan for more than 1 year, with the exception of students from MOE approved schools for international residents in Taiwan or bilingual divisions (programs) affiliated to a domestic senior secondary school (Chinese version only).

Please note: 
1. An official stamp by the Taiwan Overseas Representative Office is NOT necessary during application period, but it will be required documents when a prospective student is registering in NDHU on the registration day.
2. If the applicant will receive an official diploma for the current semester, please submit a statement describe when it will be received.

✒Undergraduate Programs: At least a high school transcript or equivalent.
✒Master’s Programs: At least a Bachelor’s transcript or equivalent.
✒PhD Programs:
 At least a Master’s transcript or equivalent.

Applicants that will be graduating before the start of the semester of their expected admission (before August for the September entry, or before January for the February entry), but not before the time of their application may submit a transcript that has the records from the first semester till now. However, said applicants must present the full transcript upon registration, or will otherwise have their enrollment eligibility revoked.

Please note: 
1.An official stamp by the Taiwan Overseas Representative Office is NOT necessary during the application period, but it will be required documents when a prospective student is registering in NDHU on the registration day.

2. A transcript for all semesters is one of the required documents.

3. Please note that the transcripts of national entrance examination such as SPM, STPM, SAT, or these categories of exams such as A-Level, O-Level, IBDP are only considered as "supporting documents".

Depends on the department's requirement, please refer to the NDHU Admission Guidelines.

Should be 2 pages of A4 paper, no specific format is required.

Programs Conducted in Chinese: CEFR A2 or equivalent at least.

Programs Conducted in English: CEFR B1 or equivalent at least.

If you are applying for a program that is conducted in English (including English-taught programs and programs with sufficient English courses), you will need to submit an English proficiency certificate.

Please note:
For people who are applying for Programs Conducted in English:
If English is your country's official language or if you have studied at an English language institution (proof of your degree is conducted in full-English is needed), you are exempt from providing the English proficiency requirements mentioned above.

To ensure every application is financially available and supportive to meet all educational and living expenses for studying in Taiwan, it is required for every applicant to document their Official Bank Statement showing at least TWD120,000 (USD 4,000) in your savings deposit. (If the currency of the bank statement is neither NTD nor USD, applicants shall do the conversion and write down the exchange rate on his/her official financial statement. )

Scholarship Awardees:
Shall provide proof of scholarship, if not, a bank statement is required.

Sponsorship:
If the certificate is not in the name of the applicant, an official signed sponsorship letter (in Chinese or English) is required, in which the relationship between the sponsor and the applicant is stated and the support of the applicant’s expense for the duration of the applicant’s studies in Taiwan is guaranteed.

Scholarship Applicants: 
Applicants who have applied for scholarships but have not yet been confirmed as recipients, are considered 'Not awarded' and are still required to provide a bank statement.

    1. Two Recommendation Letters
    2. Should be written in Chinese or English by applicants’ professors or employers.
    3. Fill in the recommenders’ information and email address on the application system. The system will not send out the notification until the you submits your application.


      Please note:

      1. We only accept the recommendation submitted by the referee.
      2. No specific format is requirement.

      3. Please make sure to enter the correct contact information of your referee on your application account.

Applicants will be asked whether to apply for NDHU scholarships while filling in the application form. If applicants would like to apply for NDHU scholarship, please check “yes” in the online application system. No extra documents are needed. Taiwan Scholarship awardees are not allowed to apply for NDHU scholarships. The scholarship results will be released together with the admission application results. NDHU Southward Scholarship is only for PhD applicants.
