【Scholarship】Fall 2025 NDHU Scholarship Application for Overseas Chinese Students

Application Eligibility

Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  1. Students with official student status at NDHU (students in extended study are not eligible). Must not have received any disciplinary actions more serious than a reprimand during their studies.
  2. Undergraduate students must:
  • Rank within the top 35% of their class in academic performance for the previous semester and have a conduct grade of 80 or above
  1. Graduate students must:
  • Rank within the top 35% of their class in academic performance for the previous semester and have a conduct grade of 80 or above
  1. Students who are in the thesis-writing stage and do not have academic grades for the previous semester:
  • May submit a thesis writing plan during the application period
  • The plan must include: research motivation and objectives, structure and design, data collection methods and sources, thesis outline, references, and any published papers
  1. Students enrolled in a five-year BA-MA program or admitted directly to NDHU's MA/PhD program may apply using their academic transcripts from previous years in the program

Note: Scholarships (including tuition waivers and stipends) are limited to the standard duration of study:

  • Up to 4 years for undergraduate programs

  • Up to 2 years for master’s programs

  • Up to 4 years for doctoral programs Students who exceed these durations are no longer eligible and must pay all required fees accordingly.

Application Procedure

For Newly Admitted Students:

  • The documents submitted for admission will be used for scholarship review.

For Current Students:

Submit the following documents in the order listed, stapled together, during the application period announced by the Office of International Affairs (OIA):

  1. Scholarship Application Form (required)
  2. Official transcript for the previous semester (required)
    (Apply at 學生線上申請證件系統)
  3. Official class ranking certificate for the previous semester (required)
    ("Certificate of Academic Performance Ranking" issued by the Office of Academic Affairs, apply at 學生線上申請證件系統)
  4. Additional supporting documents (optional), such as:
    • Recommendation letters from faculty
    • Awards and competition certificates
    • Certificates of leadership roles in extracurricular activities
    • Proof of academic publications

Note: Students who are already recipients of other NDHU scholarships (e.g., Partner School Scholarships, Dong Zong Teacher Training Scholarships, etc.) are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Application Timeline

Newly Admitted Students:

  • Deadline: By 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025
  • Submit all application documents via the designated Google Form. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Current Students:

  • Period: Thursday, September 18 to Friday, September 19, 2025(9:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00)
  • Submit printed documents in person to the OIA. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Important Notes
  1. Award recipients must complete the registration process by the university's deadline.
  2. Newly admitted students who apply for admission deferral will not retain their scholarship eligibility. Exceptions may apply in special circumstances with committee approval.
