【Scholarship】The Overseas Community Affairs Council Chairman's Award for Outstanding Graduating Overseas Chinese Students

To recognize outstanding graduating overseas Chinese students, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) has established the 2025 OCAC Chairman's Award for Outstanding Graduating Overseas Chinese Students Award to commend graduates who have demonstrated academic excellence and to encourage more ethnic Chinese students to pursue higher education in Taiwan.


1. Award Details

  • Award Amount & Quota:
    • Each recipient will receive NT$50,000.
    • The university may recommend one candidate for the award.
  • Eligibility Requirements:
    1. Graduating overseas Chinese and Hong Kong/Macau undergraduate students from domestic universities and colleges (excluding master's and doctoral students).
    2. Academic performance:
      • A minimum cumulative grade of 88 or above throughout the study period, OR
      • Rank within the top 5% of the department (excluding the second semester of the 113-2 academic year).
    3. Conduct grade of 80 or above in every semester.
    4. Must possess an i-OCAC Card issued by the OCAC.
    5. The award is only available within the standard study duration set by each institution. Students who have repeated a grade, retaken courses, or extended their graduation period are not eligible.

2. Required Documents

  1. Scholarship Application Form (attached).
  2. Official academic transcript for the entire study period (excluding the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year).
  3. Proof of academic ranking based on cumulative GPA.
  4. Proof of participation in OCAC activities or other outstanding achievements (with supporting documents).
  5. Copy of i-OCAC Card.

3. Application Deadline & Submission

  • Application Period:
    • March 3 (Monday) – March 4, 2025 (Tuesday)
    • 08:30–12:00 / 13:00–17:00
  • Submission Location: Office of International Affairs (OIA)
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.

4. Additional Notes

  1. Review Process:
    • The Office of International Affairs will review all applications and nominate one graduating overseas Chinese or Hong Kong/Macau student for submission to the OCAC for final review.
  2. Awardee Requirements:
    • Recipients must submit a study-in-Taiwan experience report in their native language (Malaysian and Hong Kong/Macau students may write in Chinese).
    • Recipients must also participate in an interview conducted by the OCAC in their native language.
  3. Award Presentation:

Awardees will receive both digital and printed certificates issued by the OCAC.
