The course is designed to help early-career researchers become familiar with and gain a better understanding of the application process for research fellowships and grants. Topics will include contacting prospective host laboratory supervisors, assessing eligibility, hands-on proposal writing, and making follow-up decisions after application results are announced, with the aim of improving participants’ chances of submitting successful applications.

(1) The course will be conducted entirely in English and will adopt an interactive teaching format.

(2) Participants are required to attend the entire course and submit a mock application before the course begins. Participants who are absent without valid reason may not be accepted for future training courses organized by Academia Sinica.

(3) Priority will be given to senior PhD students (in the final 2–3 years of their doctoral studies) and early-career postdoctoral researchers (within two years of receiving their PhD degree).

(4) The course is limited to 20 participants, and the application deadline is September 13, 2026. Applicants will be evaluated and ranked based on the eligibility criteria established by the instructors and the extent to which they meet those criteria. Academia Sinica reserves the right to make the final decision regarding participant selection and allocation of available places.
