NDHU Supports Myanmar Students with Housing and Scholarship Assistance to Ensure Academic Stability
In light of the recent severe earthquake in Myanmar, which has caused significant casualties and property damage, many families of Myanmar students currently studying in Taiwan have also been affected and are facing financial hardship.
Based on the principle of humanitarian concern, National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) has introduced the following support measures to help Myanmar students currently enrolled at the university maintain stability in both their daily lives and academic pursuits following the earthquake:
Waiver of dormitory fees: The Office of Student Affairs will assist in processing the waiver to ensure that students have a stable living environment during their time in Taiwan.
Priority access to scholarships: Colleges are requested to give priority consideration for internal scholarships to Myanmar students who meet the academic requirements.
NDHU President Huey-Min Hsu stated, “As the semester draws to a close, we hope these support measures will provide students with reassurance and encouragement. There is no need to worry about tuition and accommodation arrangements for the upcoming semester. Please rest assured and focus on your studies here in Taiwan. We also hope that all of your families are safe and will soon recover from the aftermath of the disaster.”
These support measures are being actively promoted by the Office of International Affairs, with strong support from the President, in close cooperation with the Office of Student Affairs and each college. Through this practical assistance, the university aims to help affected students continue their education with peace of mind and maintain a stable life.
