According to Regulations

I

Application Eligibility

I-1

Students who have been enrolled for at least one semester of full-time study and have successfully completed their courses.

 

In accordance with Article 4, Item 2 of the regulations.

I-2

The scholarship is for ENROLLED students. Thus, the applicants shall complete all the registration processes before the registration deadline (school calendar):
(1) paying the NHI fee, Group Insurance fee, tuition, and miscellaneous fee (or 1/3 tuition and miscellaneous fee, if you apply for Installment)
(2) finishing the online registration

Fail to complete the above procedures, the scholarship award will not be available.

 

In accordance with Article 4 & Article 8 of the regulations.

I-3

No record of serious infractions (reprimand, minor demerit, major demerit, detention, or expulsion from school).

 

In accordance with Article 4 of the regulations.

I-4

Recipients of scholarships from the Taiwanese government or other Taiwanese government-related agencies are not eligible to apply.

 

In accordance with Article 4 of the regulations.

II

Award Period & Duration

II-1

If the scholarship period (including tuition waiver and living allowance) and the cumulative

scholarship period for the same student is exceeded, no further scholarships will be awarded and the student will be responsible for all associated fees according to the applicable regulations.

The maximum number of semesters for different degree student to receive the scholarship:
– 8 semesters for undergraduate.

– 4 semesters for graduate.

– 6 semesters for Ph.D.
*Ph.D. students only: PhD students are eligible to apply for a maximum of 4 extensions subject to approval by the International Student Admissions Committee. The scholarship shall be limited to 50% of the tuition waiver.

If you would like to apply for the extensions, please submit the “Student Report” (click) to OIA before September 15th at 5pm. Please note that the system will be available only after the applicants submit the student report to OIA.

III

Scholarship Information

 

  1. Tuition partly or up to full tuition waiver for the semester.
  2. If awarded with a stipend: 20,000-40,000/semester.
  3. Scholarship Duration: 1 semester (5 months)

 

In accordance with Article 5, Item 2 & Article 7, Item 2 of the regulations.

Application Instruction

The application should be done online. Start your application according to the Application Date at the scholarship application website.

* Newly apply, the ID is the Student ID, and the default password is your birthday (ex: birthday 1999/09/29, then password will be 19990929).

Required Documents

V-1

NDHU academic transcript for ALL semesters.

 

In accordance with Article 6, Item 2 of the regulations.

V-2

Students who are working on their Ph.D. or Master’s thesis and have not signed up for any courses in the previous semester can submit their thesis proposal along with their application during the application period. (The thesis proposal should contain the research motivation and objectives, the research structure and design, the data sources and collection methods, the thesis outline, and a bibliography)

 

In accordance with Article 4, Item 2 & Article 6, item 2 of the regulations.

V-3

Certificates for taking Mandarin/Chinese courses:

TOCFL Certificates or Proof of completion of the Mandarin courses (ex: Transcripts→Please Mark the Mandarin courses on your transcript (click here for example) should be provide by the Students who are:

(1) enrolled in programs taught in Mandarin and don’t hold TOCFL Level 3 or equivalent proficiency certificates.
(2) or enrolled in programs taught in English and have not successfully completed two Mandarin courses or don’t hold TOCFL Level 1 or equivalent proficiency certificates).

 

In accordance with Article 8, Item 7 of the regulations.

VI

Optional Documents

 

  1. Recommendation letter from your academic advisor or supervising professor. (After completing the application process, the applicational system will automatically email your request to the recommenders).
  2. Proof of awards/ Certificate of extracurricular activities
  3. Published papers
  4. Other supportive documents

 

 

VII

Application Deadline

 

Application Date: September 8th at 9am – September 22th at 5pm

Result Announcement: Beginning of November

* In order to uphold the integrity of the review process, the committee has clearly stated that no additional documents will be accepted after the deadline, under any circumstances.
