National Dong Hwa University Participates in the “2025 Taiwan-Japan Talent Development Forum and Education Fair,” Showcasing Its Strength in Internationalized Education
On July 15, 2025, President Hweiming Hsu of National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) led a delegation to Kumamoto's City Central Plaza to participate in the “2025 Taiwan-Japan Talent Development Forum and Education Fair”, hosted by the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET). The event attracted over a hundred high school principals, teachers, students, and parents from the Kyushu region, generating vibrant interactions and highlighting the global appeal and strengths of Taiwan’s higher education system.
The NDHU delegation included Dr. Ming-Chien Su, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. Yi-Cheng Chang, Associate Dean of the College of Science and Engineering; and Ms. Mei-Sung Chiang, Program Assistant at the Office of International Affairs. During the event, the team engaged actively with participants, introducing NDHU’s academic resources, international programs, and student support services.
NDHU’s booth showcased its English-taught degree programs, exclusive scholarships for international students, on-campus housing options, and career development support after graduation. The university also emphasized its nature-friendly, safe, and welcoming campus environment, which drew strong interest. In addition, NDHU offers robust language learning support and student exchange opportunities with over 500 partner universities worldwide, attracting many Japanese students and parents to inquire further at the booth.
One of the highlights of the event was a testimonial session featuring Japanese students who previously studied in Taiwan. They shared their first-hand experiences—including academic life, cultural immersion, and daily living—offering the audience a more personal and in-depth understanding of Taiwan’s higher education system. The stories sparked warm and heartfelt connections, deepening mutual trust and emotional bonds between Taiwan and Japan.
Through the continuous expansion of English-taught programs and global exchange initiatives, NDHU has been steadily advancing campus internationalization and actively participating in overseas education outreach. This event significantly boosted NDHU’s visibility in Japan, helped strengthen ties with local educational institutions, and opened new opportunities for student recruitment and international collaboration. The university reaffirms its commitment to becoming a hub of international education in eastern Taiwan, demonstrating both capability and determination.
