On June 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that in response to the spread of the Delta variant globally and its high transmissibility, starting today, travelers arriving in Taiwan from the seven key high-risk countries (Brazil, India, the UK, Peru, Israel, Indonesia, and Bangladesh), are required to take quarantine vehicles arranged by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to go to group quarantine facilities from airports or ports. Travelers arriving in Taiwan from countries other than the seven high-risk countries should take quarantine vehicles at their own expense or drive their own vehicles to a quarantine hotel or a group quarantine facility where they plan to stay at their own expense. The CECC emphasized that friends and relatives of people arriving in Taiwan should refrain from picking them up at airports or ports to reduce virus transmission.
